From land to sea .. Dal mare alla terra
In this design challenge, Cantori asked to reimagine the mythic return of Ulysses in Homer’s Odyssey, not just as a journey to a physical land, but as a profound voyage towards self-discovery and inner truth. The yacht, built by Cantiere delle Marche, becomes an architectural narrative that unfolds the legendary journey of Ulysses and Penelope, interpreted through an innovative and bold design language. The project of FABRIC transforms the concept of home into a sanctuary for the soul, where every space reflects a step in the hero’s odyssey—each threshold inviting an intimate exploration between the vast sea and the comforting land. From the external deck with its sea-facing lounge and pool area to the flexible, open-plan salon, the yacht offers a fluid, continuous connection between living spaces. A spiral staircase, inspired by the sea, serves as a central element, linking the three levels of the yacht in harmony. At the heart of the design lies the master cabin—a symbolic retreat, featuring a central bed surrounded by a lounge, writing desk, and a luxurious spa-like bathroom designed for both. The entire space serves as a metaphor for Ulysses’ return home, a place of rest and rejuvenation after a long journey. This project, crafted with elegance and precision, pushes the boundaries of yacht design, turning each detail into a sensory experience that tells the story of Ulysses in a modern, sophisticated way.
