A quiet rhythm

Hogan Lovells, a renowned international law firm, sought a new headquarters in the heart of central Milan. Just steps from the city center, within a district where Milan’s history has unfolded since Roman times, the firm selected a 7,000 m² postmodern building to house its new offices. It all began with the portico, a quiet rhythm that shaped our way of thinking about space. From that first architectural encounter came a principle we carry inward: creating interiors that welcome, guide, and frame with measured, timeless clarity. Everything we design grows from that threshold. What lives outside, the movement, light, and human scale of the Milanese piazza, is brought inside and reinterpreted. The portico becomes a place to gather, where conversations flow naturally, and encounters unfold with ease. It embodies Hogan Lovells’ hospitality ethos: open, confident, and elegantly informal. The city enters, and the office becomes a destination. The ground floor is devoted entirely to client experience and brand identity. A central reception anchors the space, welcoming visitors into a carefully curated environment designed to make a lasting first impression. The office layout meets the full functional program with a mix of single and double offices, flexible meeting rooms, and a dedicated floor cloakroom. At its center, a hospitality zone creates an informal lounge atmosphere, connecting coffee points, copy areas, and phone booths. This central hub encourages moments of pause, exchange, and collaboration within a high-performance workspace.
